That’s what WIOA funding is for. CareerSource Tampa Bay is the public workforce development agency serving Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Among other things, it administers WIOA, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, a federal program built for people pursuing in-demand careers who need help covering the cost of training. WIOA funding can help with instructional costs, books, materials, and uniforms or supplies, depending on individual eligibility, it’s not a blanket guarantee for every applicant, eligibility is determined case by case.

Who Decides If You Qualify
This is important to be direct about: CNA Training & Testing Center does not determine WIOA eligibility, and we don’t award funding. That’s handled entirely by CareerSource Tampa Bay. Our role is as an approved training provider, meaning once CareerSource approves someone for one of these three Diploma programs, we’re on the list of places they can use that funding.

What the Process Actually Looks Like
If you think you might qualify, here’s the general path:
- Go through CareerSource Tampa Bay’s WIOA application process. This happens on their end, not ours, since they’re the ones who determine eligibility.
- Get an eligibility determination and approval. If CareerSource approves you for training, they’ll direct you toward an approved training provider for the program you’re interested in.
- Choose CNA Training & Testing Center as your provider. Since we’re approved for the CNA, Phlebotomy, and HHA Diploma programs specifically, you can select us once you’ve been approved.
- CareerSource issues a voucher. Once everything is finalized, we receive the voucher (sometimes called an Individual Training Account) on your behalf, and you begin training.
A note on our own interest form: we also have a short interest form you can fill out, which helps us follow up with you directly. That form isn’t a substitute for the CareerSource application, it’s a way for us to stay in touch while you go through the actual WIOA process on their end.
